Creating Password Reset Disk in Windows



Step 1: To get started, insert your USB Flash Drive or Disk and wait for it to be initialized and assigned a drive letter. If there is any data on it, you may want to remove it. Now to make sure that the disk is in the best shape that it can be, you should format it. Right-click on the drive letter in Computer and select the Format command.

Step 2: Now Click on Start or Search for the Keyword "Create a Password Reset disk". Click on the Results that is shown by window. Alternatively simply go to Control panel > User accounts and family then click on create a password reset disk.

Step 3: When you see the Forgotten Password Wizard's Welcome screen, take a look at the information and click Next. When you see the next screen, you'll be prompted to choose your USB Flash Drive's drive letter.

Step 4: Then, input the current password you're using for your windows to comfirm, then click Next.

Step 5: As soon as you enter your Current password,you'll see a progress bar that will move rapidly along to 100 percent. You'll then click Next and will see the last screen in the Forgotten Password Wizard. To complete the operation, click Finish.

Step 6: Now you can click the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon, choose your USB Flash Drive's drive letter, and then, when prompted to do so, remove the drive. Keep the USB or the Disk at a safe place that can remember when needed.

Using the Password Reset Disk/USB:

  • So now that we have created Password Reset disk, let us see how we can use it when we need it.
  • Whenever you forget your password, just click on Reset Password. Before that make sure you insert the Password Reset Disk or USB that you Created. 
  • If you Click on Reset Password without the Media inserted you will see a error message. On Clicking Reset password you will see welcome screen, Just Click Next
  • You will notice a dropdown menu, where you are to select the disk you used as the password reset disk, then click Next.
  • On the Next Screen you will be asked to Enter your New Password and Hint, So just do it and click Next.
  • Finally, click the finish button, and your password would be successfully reset.

Step 1: Enter BIOS Settings by Continuously Pressing F2 key on your keyboard while your Computer Boots. Most of the Computer have F2 as BIOS key but You can always look what is shown on the screen when your Computer boots.

Step 2: Once you’re in the BIOS,  you should navigate to Security tab with the keyboard arrows. The BIOS menu layout is not entirely the same on all desktops/laptops. Now Select "Set Supervisor Password" and Press Enter.

Step 3: You will see a Pop up to enter your BIOS password.,Once done, press Enter, you should Get a popup saying changes have been saved. 

Step 4: Now Press F10 to Save and Exit Setup. Or you might have to go to File first, and then select Save and Exit Setup. Press Enter and select Yes to exit the BIOS.
